The Never-Ending Project

David and I bought a house in 2009. While buying a house is awesome and exciting, figuring out your design style as a couple can be difficult. David and I thought we had the same style, modern. Little did I know that you can have different tastes within that category. Mix in my husbands color blindness and you have a full on argument in the works. I like things to be finished. Unfortunately I don’t have the funds to do everything all at once. I’ve found that it’s actually a good thing. Living in a space for a while gives you the opportunity to really decide what you really want to see. So in two years time you don’t hate every single thing that you’ve picked out.

This is a picture of our living room. I would say this is a room that’s the closest to being finished. What I’ve figured out is that I love to mix old pieces with new. The chairs in this photo used to look like this:

I would say it’s a vast improvement. The best part is I bought these for $10 dollars a piece at the Insyde Outsyde Shop.

Luckily 2 1/2 yrs of marriage and throwing a few fights in the mix, and I think we finally have come to an understanding, at least today. : )
